After reading this book for class I find that Wright is someone I would like to sit down to dinner with. He speaks directly to the point, his chapters are not a word longer than they need to be, and he has a love for those needing help and us in the helping professions. OverviewI bought the Kindle version of the book. I think that is okay for background material. However, this should not be your sole study tool by any means. I highly recommend taking practice exams, at least from 2002 and 2003, and reviewing websites online for areas tested on recent exams.My conclusion is that if you really can't afford a class, you can get get by with this as an introductory tool, but you really need to take past exams and review materials for areas of laws that have changed since the passage of the AIA in more detail (since exams and practice problems aren't available for the AIA). mypatentbar.com, which is free was a pretty valuable research for me, someone who did not take a class.Ultimately, I did pass based on preliminary results (2016), which is all that really counts at the end of the day. And I do think that this book helped me organize my studies. But if I had to go back, I probably would have spent a little more on another source.ProsThis book was well organized (organized by importance), and I think that it did a decent job at touching on the major points in each of the MPEP sections.Cons- Because it is just background material, you'll need to find another source of sample exam questions.- This book had way too many grammatical and spelling typos, and, at least in the Kindle version, the formatting was off sometimes. Commas were either present where they shouldn't be or missing where they needed to be, and sometimes that affected the meaning of the sentence. Spelling errors were rarer than grammatical errors, but they were also too abundant.- Sometimes the book was not entirely clear as to whether it was referring to AIA law or pre-AIA law. Generally, the authors used "AIA 35 USC §" when referring to the AIA, and "35 USC §" when referring to pre-AIA; however, sometimes it left out the "AIA" part when referring to the AIA. It would have been much clearer if it just said "AIA §" and "pre-AIA §." Because I took a patent law course, I was able to sort it out on my own without having to resort to the statutes, but sometimes it was unnecessarily confusing.- This book also had a few mistakes related to the law and regulations. For example, it stated that a claim is necessary to obtain a filing date for a nonprovisional application. However, under 35 USC 111, 37 CFR 1.53(b) and MPEP 506, claims are not required to obtain a filing date. Additionally, some laws have changed since 2013. For example, it stated that design patents have a term of 14 years. However, design patents filed after May 13, 2015 now have a term of 15 years. The kindle cover indicates that it was updated for the 9th Edition of the MPEP, so it should have made that distinction. It was by chance that I knew or discovered these rules, and finding out made me panic a little bit and question the accuracy of the entire book.

Good content, but the typos and lack of editing are so bad it really makes a lot of things more confusing than the statutes themselves. I can't believe the author released this book without having it reviewed. No editor would let this pass.

This book seems to be fairly complete, but is poorly written. There are numerous, obvious typos, which a decent spell/grammar checker would find so it is amazing that it got published. Further, the format and presentation of the information is very basic and very dry, without much explanation. Finally, some of the subject matter is often repeated, which isn't necessary.

My mission for writing this book is to raise awareness and funds that alleviate suffering while we work on a long-term solution. By telling the world about the plight of these invisible dogs I've come to love and cry for, I feel good about any small part I've played in helping save them. I write our stories and hope to show that we are genuine, not corrupt or greedy, and to show that the struggles and triumphs of rescue are grueling, rewarding but worth it. If we are to help the forgotten dogs we must also help the forgotten people. I don't see tribes, colors, cultures, outsiders, insiders, purples, yellows or greens. I see humans and animals suffering every day and feel a responsibility to get involved. I don't dwell on whose problem it is to fix it or who caused it, or that they are not my problem because I don't live there. I don't live by the notion that this is a reservation issue, nor do I place blame on the politicians or the state,or the tribe or anyone else. When I ask myself whose fault is it that so many animals are suffering and so many people have no good options to help them? I can only come up with one answer that is the cause as much as it is the only solution.You and me.Yours and mine.Us.We. Humankind.

Rescue Matters - not just a book title but two words that have a deep and emotional meaning. Once you read this book I hope you will agree with me.C.J. English is a true inspiration. All that know me, know that I love her previous work, but her passion and dedication to this cause has made me love and admire her even more (if that’s possible)She has opened my eyes to a crisis I was completely oblivious to. And if you think that this crisis is isolated to just North Dakota, like I was initially, you would be very wrong. Whilst on holidays earlier this year I witnessed a similar situation in a place that is circa 14,000km’s from North Dakota and I truly believe that I would not have seen the situation for what it was if i hadn’t been aware of TMAR from my conversations with Ms English.This is not fiction but a true life story of how TMAR came into existence. It’s not sugar coated but a real depiction of the hard road these wonderful volunteers, rescuers, and man best friend have endured for the last 4 years.I can’t say it any better than Ms English herself ‘Rescue Matters is the story of how a garage rescue grew from nothing to inspiring a nation and sparking a rescue revolution. 4 years. 4 thousand dogs. 1 unlikely hero.’As I was reading these stories I was moved to tears and messaged Ms English to express how in awe I was of the brave, strong and selfless people in this book - and that I wanted to donate every last cent I had in my bank account to support them and the fantastic work they do.So yes this book will rip your heart out but there are beautiful heart warming and good outcomes as well. This book will grab you from the first chapter to the last it will take you along on a journey. You will have all the good feels and the heartache that goes along with a rescue starting from the ground up by one guy. I’ll warn you when your done reading this amazingly well written book you’ll want to hop in your car and head to North Dakota to helpOut. I received an advanced copy for review by CJ. I work with this rescue. I work with this rescue because I wanted to help save dogs. I read this book because, honestly, she gave it to me. I couldn't put it down. I read it in 1 day. Less than 24 hours. This is a TRUE story. I know all people involved. I repeat, this is a true story. I promise you. All events have happened. I have been a part of some of these events. I still read them and I think, "wow". "Wow" because it's true. "Wow" because people are amazing. "Wow" because I GET to be part of this story, that has just begun. "Wow" because of all the good there is in the world. "Wow" because of the different perspective I have been exposed to. Rescue Matters on so MANY levels. We do save dogs, but we also forge to make a difference in the world as a whole. And THAT is what really makes me say "wow".

An well written , informative account of the selfless act of dog rescue. Many amazing stories drawn from the countless efforts of the Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue group led by ex-law enforcer Keith Benning. Starting on his own and adding volunteers , Benning is a hard working visionary , starting a meager “ ground level” rescue operation out of his own resources and work ethic and turning it into something much larger and effective. I feel like by reaching the end of the book , after gathering many helpers and dedicated partners , his work today is still without rest. He has tapped into a need that is huge and I was amazed at the scope of the problem of dog neglect. Author C.J. English does a great job depicting the real life events here and sheds great light on the problem as well as the solution. A very inspiring read for anyone who loves animals whether a little or a lot. Highly recommended reading.

Every emotion that you can have is shown is these pages.Why people treat animals with such disregard, I will NEVER understand.Its a journey of how ONE person actions and saying “NO this can not happen over and over “. He saw a need, a calling and acted on it. I loved this book! It is heart-wrenching and heart-warming. I have seen the stories on Facebook of the hundreds of dogs Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue saves, reading the stories again really tugs at the heart strings! This book is a great read, and gives you a no BS look at the hard work that goes into this rescue. My honest review ... I LOVED it! Page 27 was the first of many times I made notations. Yes some parts were hard because my love for rescue dogs runs deep … BUT … it also inspired me to truly believe in the power of what one person can do. Keith is a rockstar rescuer and the number of dogs he has personally touched in his mission to rescue is PHENOMENAL!!! He embodies the SAVE THEM ALL spirit.This is a MUST read for all dog lovers, all animal lovers, and all people who give of their time to help others.A few (I had a lot) of my pages with notes:pg. 63 "tears stinging my eyes ... tears start falling, my heart if familiar mix of love, joy and sadness."pg. 86 "AMEN!"pg. 124 "Brilliant Keith!"pg. 246 "Awesome info."pg. 248 "Heart. As someone who grew up with the AFL and was able to enjoy the exploits of the amazing Chargers, week after week, featured in the 4 PM game, this book was a trip back in time. It was a brilliant group of offensive stars led by the incomparable Lance Alworth and the grossly under appreciated Paul Lowe. If you were able to watch the 1963 Championship Game (in black and white), you can never forget the dismantling of the Boston Patriots. I remember being thankful that my beloved Buffalo Bills had lost the Eastern playoff game because they would have been humiliated, too. I also have a special place in my heart for Sid Gillman and treasure the letter he sent to me long ago. So, many thanks to the author for a job well done. The book is a wonderful piece of historical accounting that any fan of the good old days of the AFL will appreciate. I do caution modern day NFL fans because you may realize that what you see on Sundays now is nothing compared to the 10 year run of the AFL. This is an excellent gift for grandpa because it reaffirms his belief that the good old days were better than today is.

Brings up some very good comparisons with that of the 1963 NFL champion Bears. Makes a relatively valid case as to how a championship game between the two teams might have played out. Book takes you on a game-by-game synopsis of the whole season and a hypothetical match between the Chargers and the Bears. Given that the "game" is played at Sun Devil Stadium, held a bit more sentiment for me for that fact.

This is a good book about the team and league I followed at the time and I would recommend it for someone interested in that period. Having said that, the premise that the Chargers, who were in a league that was four years old, would have won a Super Bowl, is a stretch at best. For starters, the Chargers lost three games in a weaker AFL. That would have put them in third place in the NFL west behind the Bears and Packers who played NFL competition. I would argue that the 1966 Kansas City Chiefs were every bit as good, if not better than the 1963 Chargers and they lost the first Super Bowl 35-10. The Chargers were in the AFL championship for the following two years and lost both times to the Buffalo Bills. Does that make the Bills uncrowned champions? The AFL was growing in 1963. Does anyone think that the Winnipeg Jets, champions of the WHA in its fourth year, would have beaten the Montreal Canadians in 1976 or Utah Stars fourth year champs of the ABA, could have beaten the top NBA teams. When the AFL and NFL merged seven years later, the combined record of the AFL teams was 55-75, they were not level with the NFL despite winning two Super Bowls. As far as computer simulations go, they are only as good as the information that they are fed. The Chargers gained their stats from a weaker league, there is no way to make up for that.

You bet. Great book. The overlook best team!!!! They would chewed up the Bears. The one punch of Lowe and Lincoln, throw in the Bambi; feed Bears to the D-Line!!!

I like this Dr alot, and his plan is simple and powerful. I got this thinking there might be new material in it, or more expansive material on his 4 steps to health. Honestly I looked up some info in " How To Make Disease Disappear", and word for word was identical. Ugh. Lots of pics of himself in this one. When I 1st watched a video of him I just loved what he had to say and ordered the book. As well as recommended him to many friends I felt needed to hear what he has to say. It is simple, eat colorful whole foods, move, sleep, meditate or pray in my case, and stay off or get unattached to our devices. Great advice. Just don't buy both books. He is very upbeat and caring obviously about his patients and has a great understanding of Dis-ease, different from the majority of PCP's. We all need to follow his advice, but I really gleaned more info that I actually thought about in "How To Make Disease Disappear".

I love Dr. Chatterjee. He is a wonderful Functional Medicine doctor from the UK. (The American version is called “How to Make Diseases Disappear”). He gives excellent advice about how to assess what’s really going on with ailments you’re experiencing by looking at what is going on in all aspects of your life: eating, movement, sleep, rest/relaxation. He gives very practical advice in each “pillar”. Dr. Chatterjee has a good website and podcasts you can listen to as well. I absolutely loved this book.

I read it, and bought two more copies for "healthy" friends who can use his advice. He suggests small, realistic actions to improve your health, and he makes you think through the truth of what you are doing. Worth a read if you wonder why you are always the one catching a little cold that won't go away.

Listened to his pod cast and liked it so much I purchased his books. Read both books and have lent them out to friends. Common sense functional medicine, easy to make changes that will change your life for the best. Highly recommend
