This book (in kindle format) is a great help to anyone whose research takes them back to Sweden. As of 2016 (when I purchased it) there is some info that is a little out of date, but still useful: Genline was purchased by Ancestry.com in 2012 (and just discovered that many individual parish records can be searched directly online now through Ancestry. Like, you can search the book page by page.) Yet, the info on parish book records is indispensable! This book helps make sense of these records and also is helpful to organize your search - as well as be aware of the pitfalls of researching in a country where so many Olofs/Nils married so many Karolinas/Brittas! It's also helped to understand how parishes-municipalities are set up (to find who holds records) and the different regions of the country. It's a great book if you're ready to begin research into Sweden and also worth re-reading sections as you're doing that. Just know that parish records are hand-written and not all priests' writing and sense of organization were equal! And their handwriting gets a little cross-your-eyes-dicey in the mid 1700's. Great book, well worth having, I kept saying (yes, aloud!) "This is the book I've been wishing for!" :-)

I've been doing genealogy for several years but have hesitated trying to research my grandfather's Swedish family history. It's hard enough researching in the U.S. but the Swedish language is so different, it's so far away, and handwriting is doubly tough not recognizing the parts of words. This book is the best I've seen at trying to help you work through all of the issues you will have. The book explains where to look for all of the Swedish records (they kept great records). It explains the child naming traditions that were in effect until the 20th century. It explains the Swedish alphabet. The book explains why people left Sweden in the first place. And it takes you through an example of tracking down the history of a specific Swedish family. The book even prepares you for a trip to Sweden if that's your plan. It has a list of the most common words you'll find while researching and their translation. Most all of the records I've been looking at so far are handwritten Swedish and in photocopy form, not indexed but this book does a good job helping you work through the problems. A great book!.

I purchased this book on one of the used book sites. So happy with the service and condition of the book. I devoured the info in this book. It was so thrilling to match up the cities and regions that I had info on from my family research. I have already made plans with the additional info on places to visit provided in the book. I so want to see the museums and buildings with an emphasis on the 1800's. Combined with the Vikings and exploration periods.

Excellent book for those tracing their Swedish genealogy. It goes through a specific example of tracing a Swedish family in America back to their emigration and ancestral home in Sweden. Detailed information on libraries and online-information is given, along with a background in Swedish history, Swedish family naming practices, and even suggestions about visiting Sweden and distant relatives.

I saw this book at a genealogical conference and thought it way overpriced, so ordered it from Amazon for a reasonable price. It's great at helping you sort out the various Swedish genealogical records and at interpreting the material in them. I loaned this to a friend who belongs to a Swedish genealogical website and she read it twice in one weekend and said it was fantastic for helping her understand the information she'd been gathering. Additionally, it helpled her navigate the actual records when she made a genealogical research trip to Sweden. That was my original intention for buying this book: I'm going to join the same site as my friend, then in 2014 I'm planning a research trip to Sweden and I will rely on this book to help me navigate the various records and understand what information they contain.If you have Swedish ancestry and are trying to interpret original Swedish records, this book is a valuable tool, and in my book, a must for your genealogical library!

Just starting my Swedish genealogy research. Bought this book in preparation for a Swedish genealogy workshop in three weeks. Initial purchase was Kindle format. Great for reading text but graphics/photos were not great quality. Then bought paperback format. Graphics/photos were very good (and helpful). Size of paperback made graphics very useful. In paperback graphics/photos seemed to disrupt the reading of the text.In summary - very useful book for Swedish genealogy work, probably essential if you do not know any Swedish. Did not mind purchase of both Kindle and paperback formats as they served different purposes for me. Always like convenience of having my books as close as my tablet.

I know an OB/GYN who gives this book to all of his patients who have a Downs baby. His stories (told in generic terms because of confidentiality!) are ones where mom and dad go from sorrow and despair to hope and acceptance; even to sheer joy - and the book is a huge ingredient of moving them to that. If you or someone you know is touched by the beauty of a Downs baby, this is the book you give. This is the window into that world that we would all be so lucky to be touched by.

My wife really wanted to read this book, so I bought it. After reading it, I asked her what she thought. She was unimpressed. Being the parents of a child with Down Syndrome we have read lots of books on the topic and this one pales in comparison to almost all of the others, according to my wife.

I just started reading this book today and I am already almost done. I love everything about this book. I found myself crying tears of joy. It also helped me to realize how special I am that God chose me to be Raymond’s (the son of the authors) teacher. I would definitely recommend this book for parents, teachers, siblings, friends, therapists, doctors, etc.

This book is a Godsend for my practice where we deliver Down Syndrome babies. I give it to all of the parents who have a Down Syndrome baby. It's always a little scary for parents encountering it for the first time and "Windows Into Heaven" helps parents to understand that, first, they are not alone, and second, they have been given a gift few will receive in this lifetime. Delightful book you should have if you've been touched by Down Syndrome.

This was an inspiring and uplifting collection of personal experiences. It gave me encouragement and that "I've been there too" feeling. I would recommend it to families and friends who are involved with a child with Down Syndrome. It is gentle enough to reach out to those who may feel unsure how to relate to a new family member with Down Syndrome.

I love this book because it takes a wide view, including stories from moms, dads, and grandparents about babies/kids/young adults/adults with Down syndrome. One theme ties us all together--our deep, abiding appreciation of the way Down syndrome has touched our lives.

Deadpool has always been a character in love with breaking the fourth wall. In this volume, an attempt at psychiatric treatment leads deadpool to discover that he was right about the universe all along, and it causes him to go on a rampage against every hero and villain at Marvel. While the concept was decent, this comic was far too short. Most of the battles were over in a page or two, so we didn't get to see nearly enough action to make this worthwhile.

The killer in Deadpool manages to takeover, Now he is out to kill everyone in the entire Marvel Universe.I know a lot of people love Deadpool. I really haven't read that many of his stories. I had heard that they were darkly humorous.So, I was looking forward to this series. Unfortunately, I found it disappointing.By putting the killer aspect of Deadpool's fractured psyche, it takes a lot of the humor out of his personality. Then what could have been epic fights between Deadpool and the other heroes and villians of Marvel, were often reduced to either Deadpool using a trick (which the heroes meekly fell for) or he just let them them kill him and then regenerated really quickly and killed them when they turned their backs. (Why they all forgot he could do that, I am not sure.) The heroes really didn't seem to use their powers or abilities very well. (Several Avengers had even gone into hiding instead of facing Deadpool.) There wasn't any great teaming up of superheroes(or villains) as has been seen so many times before. It seems Deadpool's power of regeneration works strangely. The worse the injury, the quicker he healed. Rip his head off and he had a new one in seconds but break his jaw and he actually has to reset it several minutes later.Finally, without giving anything away, the ending is a fairly lame overdone gimmick.This could have been a great what-if type story with some awesome battles. But it just didn't live up to its potential.

!*! murdering Hulk is 2 pages...Murder of Thor is both confusing, aswell as kinda clever maybe.!!Spoilers!!Deadpool heals together from at least 5 different pieces finds banner within about 8-9 hours and while standing right in front of him kills him with a sword. WTF? With one stroke I must add...Thor throws his hammer at deadpool and deadpool "I THINK" jumps over the hammer while it was flying towards Thor and enlarged it so that it crushed Thor.... Took me awhile to decide that's what happened otherwise deadpool kicked Third hammer back at him... Also pretty sure moonknight fight was BS and I've never read any of that characters comics, big assumption I know but well bet you won't think I'm wrong...:-\

Though I can appreciate the repeated fourth-wall breaking, I have to say I liked the idea of this book rather than its actual content. Didn't really care for the ending. But I love the Marvel Universe with its characters I've known all my life. It was entertaining to watch them all die at the hands of Deadpool. It's also a very short read, but it's got good re-readability.

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe was probably the most interesting of the DP spinoffs. It’s also the most serious and bloody. There’s even a parental advisory on the cover. Basically, Deadpool’s mind tells him that he needs to wipe out reality by killing off all the Marvel characters. That’s not all though, he even tries to kill the Marvel writers! Awesome work by Cullen Bunn.

Lots of meta, fourth-wall breaking which has become a staple of Deadpool comics. As implied in the title, Deadpool hacks, slashes, shoots, and quips his way through the Marvel roster for reasons of his own. If you already like Deadpool, you'll like this too. If you hate the idea of Deadpool, this won't change your mind.

Lots of things happen and it all happens crazy fast. The dialogue is a bit try hard with less pay off of other deadpool experiences. But it is an interesting read, even though I had myself thinking, "what?" after almost every death. I just feel if you are killing everyone with deadpool you can get a bit more inventive. The worst part is how short it is, I wish it gave us more time to digest the fights and their ramifications.

Deadpool is awesome what can I say. This comic is a pretty quick read but a good read non the less. I do love the writing and the art. I will say that the ways Deadpool kills certain marvel characters is awesome and pretty genius. I will say that I do hope they make this comic into a movie with Ryan Reynolds. Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe is great read and one many Deadpool fans should check out.
