This is my first trip to Aruba though I am a fairly seasoned traveler. This trip was a bit more last minute than usual so I found myself more dependent on my handy travel guide than usual. This guide gave me no sense of the island at all, no sense for how to get around, minimal information on attractions and in some cases inaccurate information. The biggest challenge has been getting around. There are almost no street signs anywhere and it is very easy to loose your way. The directions that were included are misleadingly simplistic ("turn right at the rotary"; most intersections are a rotary). The descriptions of attractions seem to be taken straight from websites and not from real experience. There is a shortage of information that would have been helpful to know: can you rent umbrellas and beach chairs at each beach, what are the hours of operation and information about purchasing tickets if need be in detail (the lighthouse for example), do I need a road map and where or which one to get, more detail about how difficult it is to get around the national park. The only thing I found helpful were the restaraunt reviews. Also there is at least one page missing from this book. The numbers carry on normally but the book drops off in the middle of a paragraph of one section and picks up in another. Didn't mark the section and I'm not going back to look for it now. Really wouldn't recommend this guide. I've been here 5 days and feel like I could write a more authentic and useful guide already.

Cute little book that contains quick, but well-written reviews of the places, sights, and accommodation for this "one happy island."I'm a bit dubious on the recommendations of the restaurants, however. I discovered Aruba isn't exactly a foodie's paradise. There were a few locations I couldn't find following the book's directions. However, if you're looking for a quick reference on Aruba, this is a great start.

I just got back from Aruba and this was a very handy book to have. Unlike other travel books that I've purchased, this one is very compact so it fit in my bag easily. I found it especially helpful for activities and restaurants. If you are not staying in one of the all-inclusive places and you need a little guidance getting around the island, this is a great book to have.

If you want Aruba guidebooks, buy this one and Moon Aruba. Moon's is better and more thorough but this is also helpful and smaller which would be easier to carry around. Biggest complaint is that there are lots of typos! Come on, Fodor's, you can do better than that.

I bought this for a cheap price before going to Aruba. It did have some great information on local attractions that I did not find using online resources. Took me a few hours to skim the book and get some good ideas. Worth the few dollars that I spent. Obviously, this published version doesn't contain updated information, but Aruba is fairly small and the best attractions as of this review are still in this book. Have a great trip!

This was a very helpful book that gave great insight on different things to do on the island. However, there were missing pages in my copy - sentences that were supposed to be finished on the next page and there was no end to the sentence. This is why I deducted a star. Maybe it is pnly my copy that has this issue.

I JUST RETURNED FROM ARUBA AND FODOR'S WAS SPOT ON - I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE PLANNING A VACATION TO PURCHASE ONE -

This is an easy to use guide that gives you enough info without being overwhelming. The quality is also very nice. I'd recommend this to anyone traveling to Aruba.

My wife and fifteen year old love John Flanagan's The Ranger's Apprentice series. We've been listening to the audiobooks for a few years now, always when we're on long trips so we can get a whole book in. This Thanksgiving we got away for a few days, and we listened to The Sorcerer of the North, the fifth book in the series of ten. Our trip was shorter than normal this time, though, but we ended up listening to the book during the quiet hours of our stay at a rental cabin.In this book, young Will is a man hand has his own territory to cover as a Ranger. He's pretty much a law unto himself, a spy and a force for the king. It was odd seeing Will in action as a man instead of a teen, although he isn't a very old man, barely into his twenties. I missed seeing him a Halt's side, or trying to figure out how to play the odds against the adults. But it was also nice to see him pretty much full grown and doing what he was trained to do.The plot is complicated in this book, and it took a little while for all the pieces to come together, but Flanagan is a gifted author when it comes to plots. Will is tasked with finding out what sickness has stricken down Lord Syron and who is truly loyal to him, and maybe sorting out who the eventual inheritor of the lands should be.I liked the plotting and the characters, the hiding and the spycraft that goes on throughout. Alyss, Will's friend who is also a spy, joins the mission and things really heat up on all fronts because during the action Will and Alyss discover that they're drawn to each other in ways they hadn't expected.Flanagan's sense of the world is awesome in this one. As Will traipses around the castle, the castlegrounds, and the forest outside the walls, the environment comes to life on every page. Flanagan has a vivid imagination and shares if quite elegantly with his readers.I also enjoy the author's subtlety, the way he leads you down a path and you start expecting events to take a certain turn, then he twists everything around so that you don't know quite what is going on or who to trust. Flanagan is at his best in this one.The only thing that will put some readers off, especially the new ones, is how the book ends with so many things left hanging. I howled when we got to the end, not prepared to let go. My son patiently reminded me that every book Flanagan does is more or less two parts. And that's true. Books five and six basically form one large story, as did the first pair of books and the second pair. However, the other two were not truncated quite so suddenly as events come to a halt in this one.I've got the sixth book in the series. I'm just waiting on another family trip!

This fifth installment takes place five years after from where book four has left off. Will is now a full-fledge Ranger managing a fief of his own until he is sent to the north to find out if the rumor is true about a sorcerer who has come back from the dead, per se. Once again, the story is good and entertaining, but my excitement is cutoff for it has abruptly ended. Gah, this author does it all the time...leaving his audience hanging up in the air when the peak of the story has just started. Why o why?! It’s a dilemma that makes me berserk.

For the first time reader of the series this book will pull you in and leave you wanting the next book right away. With the Rangers apprentice series you get a lot of story packed into pages as arcs span a few books. If it was an ongoing series where you are having to wait for next book it would be quiet frustrating. As a completed series with some great arcs it flows fairly well. It was fun to see our hero's growth and that of his friends.

I truly enjoyed this book, but it's a complete cliff hanger.Will has grown up by several years and is now a full apprentice. He is on a special assignment, disguised as a jongleur (wandering entertainer) whose mission is to discover what is going on in the strategically important Norgate Fife. The King is ill and cannot be healed, and there are rumors that an ancient sorcerer has somehow come back to life and is living in the forest by the northernmost fortress of Norgate.Will is mostly on his on in this book. Horace has only a minuscule role, and Halt and Crowley probably have fewer than five pages total devoted to them. Instead, in this fifth book, Will shares the stage with Courier Alyss, one of the orphans he grew up with. Will, however, is definitely the main star.There's plenty of Ranger action, adventure, and intrigue, plus Tug and the presence of a new friend, a deeply loyal and intelligent dog who (so far) doesn't have a name.The book ends with the mystery of the sorcerer solved, but everything else (the safety of the fife, the health of the king, a potential invasion of the northern neighbors, Alyss's safety, and what role Horace will play in the story) is primed for the next book. I'm grateful that I don't have to wait a year for it to be published! It's already on my bookshelf.A word of warning: as the characters have grown up, so has the language. Damn is used numerous times throughout the book. I don't remember there being true cursing in any of the previous books of this series.

I love this book... a wonderful collection of FDR's speeches, which are so inspiring. My copy is thoroughly worn, and I can almost hear FDR's voice as I read. In addition to the speeches, there are short introductions that give you a little background about what was occurring at the time of the speech. It's a perfect size paperback for keeping on hand when you have moment to read on the fly. I bought my original copy at the Little White House (FDR's home) in Warm Springs, GA; and I just bought a second copy as a gift.

One of the few books of speeches which moves us because it has come from the heart of a leader without mincing technical terms. He has addressed it in simple but lucid language as if he is standing before us. His fire side address to people of America are excellently placing political decisions before the public and seeking their approvals. This is very rare now-a-days. Today the situation is that leaders impose the decisions, then some-how reasons that it was right thing to do and get it ratified...It would have been also great if the book also contained few of his historic letters.Nice reading.....Thanks to publisher and to Amazon for bringing it in Kindle version too. Excellent compilation of FDR's best speeches--27 in all. As with the collection of Lincoln's speeches that I read not too long ago, these speeches lose nothing when being read (and, with FDR, a great many of these speeches are available on various forms of media to be heard and seen). He was a master at the art of speech-making, and making you feel that he was speaking directly to you, rather than to an entire gathering or to millions over the radio.Highly recommended, as it gives us a glimpse into the difficult times of FDR's administration, and FDR himself.

It's brand new and i can smell the scent of the newly-printed ink on the brochure. I've already had the opera aria album which andrea recorded more than ten years ago, and to be honest, many tracks in this new album were from the former album. However, it is still worth buying as you can feel the difference of andrea's voice throughout the years. I recommend the newly recorded Nessun dorma in which andrea delivered with even more mature and heroic timbre, and with an extra ending.Besides, i am very glad that amazon global ships this to China, I must be the very few first-buyers in the mainland,haha.

If you love ANDREA BOCELLI You will love this CD. The music and his voice is wonderful. A must for Opera fans.

Love Bocelli, but this wasn’t a scintillating compilation. Only a few tracks are great. The others are too long and boring for me.

I was curious to hear Andrea Bocelli do Opera as I usually hear him doing contemporary songs. He is an impressive artist.

This is a wonderful CD. I have enjoyed listening to it. Perhaps my favorite Bocelli CD. Unfortunately I ordered some heavy bookends at the same time I ordered this CD. They were shipped in the same box with very little packing material. The case on the CD was cracked pretty badly. Fortunately the CD was not damaged.

Very good reference book.

This is a pretty complete book from my point of view. I have not read all of it yet but so far soo good.

In my opinion is this the best you can buy for your money. It is not cheap, but worth every cent of it. I call it the antenna bible, use it together with good antenna design software and understand what you design.
