Clint Hill is the New York Times bestselling author of Mrs. Kennedy and Me and Five Days in November. A former Secret Service agent who was in the presidential motorcade during the John F. Five Presidents INTRODUCTION Walking Beside History As a Special Agent in the United States Secret Service, I had the honor and privilege of serving five presidents—Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, and Gerald R. Ford—three Republicans and two Democrats. From my unique vantage point, I had the rare opportunity to observe the human side of these men—the most powerful men in the world—as each dealt with the enormous responsibilities and unforeseen challenges thrust upon them, and how their individual characters and personalities affected grave decisions. My seventeen years in the Secret Service spanned the period that encompassed the U-2 spy incident; the Cold War; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy; the civil rights movement, riots and burning of major U.S. cities; the Vietnam War; Watergate; and the resignations of Vice President Spiro T. Agnew and President Nixon. In less than two decades, America went from being unquestionably the most respected and admired nation in the world to a country whose image had become tarnished by violence, scandal, and deceit. It is interesting to note that of these five presidents, only Eisenhower had a normal run as president—elected by the people and serving two full terms. Kennedy was elected in 1960 by the slimmest of margins, and his term lasted just one thousand days, cut short by an assassin. Suddenly, the vice president became president. Johnson was reelected the following year, but when the demands of the office and the casualties of the Vietnam War became more than he could bear, he chose not to run for a second term. Nixon was elected in 1968, and again in 1972, but in the wake of the Watergate scandal, he became the first United States president to resign, in 1974. A year earlier, when Nixon’s vice president, Spiro Agnew, resigned in disgrace, Nixon appointed Gerald Ford as vice president. Thus, upon Nixon’s resignation, Ford became president, never having been elected to the office. It was a turbulent time, and there I was, in the middle of it all. As with our two previous books, my talented writing partner, Lisa McCubbin, and I have attempted to bring history to life through my experiences. While Mrs. Kennedy and Me focused on my interactions with Jacqueline Kennedy, and Five Days in November detailed those tragic days surrounding the assassination, the Kennedy section in this book focuses on my observations of and interactions with President Kennedy. There is unavoidably some overlap, but the recollections of my years with Eisenhower, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford are revealed here for the first time. There is no doubt that the assassination of President Kennedy was a defining moment for me, and it would affect me on many levels for the rest of my life. I was thrust onto the pages of history, but it has often bothered me that I would be remembered solely for my actions on that one day. For there was much that led up to that moment, and much that followed. Like the five presidents I served, there were many things that influenced the decisions I made, the actions I took, the man I became. It has indeed been an extraordinary journey.

A boring read. Nothing insightful. This book offers no intimate details of any of the five presidents written about, and as well it shouldn't. And the co-author obviously can't write about any of theSecret Services most intriging activities for security reasons. That being said, why write this book?

Definitely a page turner of the nth degree. Clint and Lisa weave an insider's view of the Presidency as no one else can. Their crisp and readable prose makes this a fascinating and enjoyable book that is hard to put down. We all know about Clint's interaction with John and Jacqueline Kennedy but the anecdotes of the others he protected are priceless. This is all new material here. Tales of Eisenhower, Johnson, Nixon, Agnew and Ford will keep you craving more. When you are finished you'll want Clint and Lisa to write a sequel with other historical gems too. Books like this are rare, informative and incredibly enjoyable to read. A winning combination!

If you want a detailed, intelligent, eloquent tale of presidential history read Clint Hill's "Five Presidents" which covers his 17 years in the Secret Service protecting occupants of the White House. From the days of Eisenhower, when security was far more casual than it would be after the assassination of JFK, to the Ford administration Mr Hill tells the stories which illuminate the lives of each leader in a thoughtful way. While I was alive , though somewhat young in the early part of this book, I was reminded constantly the turmoil our country has gone through. This reads like a history book but with one big difference – this is a smooth and easy read and you cannot put it down. I highly recommend this book to you. Chapter 1    “Hank!” my sister, Emily, yelled, as she ran up to me and grabbed my arm. “You have to come meet Ginger. She’s the cutest snake I’ve ever seen.”   “Emily,” I said, “long slimy reptiles with no eyelids or ears are not cute. They’re creepy.”   “Ginger’s not slimy. Her skin is dry. Come pet her.”   “I don’t pet snakes, or anything else that could eat me whole for lunch.”   Our family was spending the morning at the West End Avenue street fair. The whole block was lined with booths selling everything from blueberry muffins to tube socks. Leave it to Emily to find the one snake booth. That girl can sniff out a reptile better than my dog, Cheerio, can sniff out a hunk of pot roast under the dining-room table.   Ignoring Emily, I headed for a booth that was selling cool comic books. Emily stood there and stomped her foot.   “Mom! Dad!” she whined. “This isn’t fair. We just spent twenty minutes waiting for Hank to taste every flavor of ice cream when we knew he was going to pick cherry-vanilla all along. Now the family should do something I want to do.”   “Emily has a good point, Hank,” my mom said. “I think we should all go say hello to Ginger the snake.”   “Fine,” I muttered. “But I’m not touching her with any part of my body. I will use my eyes and that’s it.”   We walked over to a large purple sign that read Ralph’s Reptile Show. Under the sign, there was a table with some reptiles displayed in different kinds of glass tanks. A giant tortoise was sitting in the middle of the table. And when I say giant, I mean giant. That guy’s shell was as big as my bathroom sink. In front of the table was Ralph himself, with a long orange, yellow, and black striped snake wrapped around his arm.   “There’s Ginger!” Emily screamed.   “Hi, Emily,” Ralph said. “Oh, I see you’ve brought your family over to meet Ginger.”   “They’re all so excited to get to know her,” Emily said, reaching out to stroke Ginger’s long back.   “Make that all but one of us,” I added quickly. “I hope this doesn’t hurt your feelings, Ralph, but I’m not a big snake petter.”   “Well, then maybe I can interest you in Clive, my snow leopard gecko,” Ralph said. “Or Boris, my adorable blue-tailed skink.”   Okay, I don’t even know what a skink is. But it sounds too close to “stink” for me to even consider petting it.   Ralph was wearing a tan floppy hat that looked like his head had sweated in it for at least a hundred years. He had on a brown shirt and shorts, brown construction boots, and a shirt with a million pockets and zippers. Maybe that’s where he keeps his skinks.   “Is that tortoise even alive?” I asked Ralph. “He’s not moving.”    “You mean Speedy?” Ralph petted the tortoise’s bumpy head with two fingers. “He’s probably just thinking about the lettuce leaf he had for lunch. If you want a little more excitement, you should get to know Ginger. She’s a hoot.”   Ralph moved his arm so that Ginger’s face was very close to my nose. Maybe it wasn’t very close, but it was close enough for me to jump way back.    “Look at Hank,” Emily laughed. “Afraid of a little snake.”   “I’m not afraid, exactly,” I told her. “I just don’t happen to love snakes the same way you do. Maybe I’m not an animal person.”   “You love Cheerio, don’t you?”   “Of course. But Cheerio’s a dog, which means you can play ball with him. And take him for a walk. Last time I checked, they don’t make leashes for snakes.”   “Snakes are very sweet in their own way,” Ralph said. “Take Ginger, for instance. She’s a mud snake. She loves children. She’s a big hit at kids’ birthday parties.”   “Wow,” Emily said. “I wish she could come to mine. It’s coming up soon. I already sent out the invitations and everything.”   Ralph reached down to the stack of brochures he had on the table and handed my dad one.   “I bring my reptile show to lots of kids’ birthday parties,” he said. “And I’d be happy to come to Emily’s.”   “That’s a deal!” Emily said. “I’m going to call everyone I’ve invited and let them know that there’s a new theme to my party. Everybody else has a princess dress-up party. Nobody has had snakes before.”   “That’s because kids don’t like attending birthday parties with creatures whose jaws unlock so they can swallow the birthday cake whole,” I said.   “I don’t care what you think, Hank. It’s my party.”   “Hold up there, Emily,” my dad said, putting the brochure in his coat pocket. “We have a lot to discuss here.”   “And we should do that on the way home,” my mom said, taking Emily’s hand to lead her away from Ralph.   “See you soon,” Emily called out to Ralph. “Tell Ginger I’ll make a special party hat for her.”   “We’ll have to see about that,” my dad whispered to Ralph.   “I understand,” Ralph answered. “My phone number is on the brochure. Let me know as soon as you decide, because Ginger is a very popular snake.”   As we walked up 78th Street to our apartment, Emily didn’t stop jabbering for a minute. My dad was just the opposite. He was quiet. His eyebrows were all wrinkled and his mouth was turned down into a frown.   “Look, Emily,” my dad said when we reached our building. “I don’t want to disappoint you, but we can’t have Ralph’s Reptile Show at your party. I glanced at the prices, and it’s too expensive for us.”   Emily stopped in her tracks and so did her mouth. She stared at my dad like he had just told her the sky was falling.    “But, Daddy,” she cried. “I’m only going to turn seven once in my life.”   “Well, sweetie,” my mom said, “we can still have a nice party for you.”   Emily’s eyes filled with tears. She pulled open the front door and ran through the hallway to the elevator. I saw her pushing the elevator button like she was hammering a nail with her thumb. I felt sorry for the elevator button, and my mom felt sorry for Emily.   “She wants that party so badly,” she whispered to my dad.   “I wish we could afford it,” he said. “But we can’t.”   We rode up the elevator in silence, except for the sound of Emily sniffling. When we got to our apartment, my dad opened the door, and Cheerio came running out to greet us. Even his wagging tail didn’t cheer Emily up. As I petted Cheerio, I remembered how Emily had stood up for me when I wanted to keep him, and my dad had said no. Suddenly, I felt something surprising in the pit of my stomach, and it had nothing to do with wanting a pepperoni pizza.   What I wanted was to help my sister. Now, how weird is that?

Got these Hank books for our 8 - 9 year old Grandson who did not like to read.... now you can't stop him.... he even woke up two hours early before the school bus came in order to read more chapters.... these Hank books by Henry Winkler and their special Font have opened up a whole new world for our Grandson..... Thank you Fonzie...... Get these books, you will not be disappointed even if your child is an avid reader... Highly Recommended to all.....

These books are absolutely perfect for my 7-year old. He loves the story line and Hank is a relatable character for this age group. Series is easy to follow and read for a first chapter book series.

My son is autistic and intellectually disabled. His connections to the characters and their commitment to one another compel him more each novel. This truly is a magical book series !

My 8 yr old was recently diagnosed with dyslexia and hated reading because he didn't think he could. I came across the Here's Hank series and my son is on book 5 in two months. He loves them, and I love the fact my son is reading!

This book was recommended by Henry Winkler, to me on Television show so I bought it and was interested in the Font the book was presented in which is good for people with Dyslexia I have my own problems so I thought I should try this book, it's the first book I've read in a year. With that said I recomend it, I passed it on to my schoolteacher wife for students that may struggle with reading.

A great series. I bought this series to inspire a beautiful, clever little boy (who happens to have dyslexia) to read. We take turns in reading sections and he is enjoying this immensely. Well done Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver on a great idea.

Bought for my grandson. He hates to read but had to read so many books a month for school. He did enjoy the Hank series.

Sometimes it's tough to get my 7 yr old to read without a lot of prompting, but he always keeps his nose buried in Hank books. This one was no exception!

Been away from collecting and reading Spider-Man for a few years. Stopped after a few years of Miles Morales storyline, which i liked a lot. Heard about the Spider-verse from the upcoming movie and picked this book to get me started. I am not disappointed! Parker as a tech mogul doesn't seem the most natural fit, but it's growing on me, and the rest of the storyline is great! Looking forward to reading more!

Jump around a bit more than I liked. Didn't know it is more or less a compilation.

I'll be quick and honest, I am a long time spider!an fan, even liking the superior a lot. This was a good start in a familiar direction but it was full of a lot of filler pieces that took me out of the main narrative which I was not expecting. But after that whole part the rest of the volume was great definitely recommend for fans or minor newcomers.

Arrived damaged, it looked like someone used it as a writing pad.

My nephew really enjoyed it.

Introducing the next generation, my son and daughter, to the Spiderman Universe.

ENJOYING THIS IMMENSELY. I was looking for something new to read and enjoy. I enjoy many genres of books. I haven't read a good manga in a while prior to ordering this box set I ordered the first 3 volumes (used) to see if I liked this... and I LOVED IT. I ordered this box set and am now currently on volume 21. No Regrets. One Piece is AWESOME. I am usually someone who will get into a series or book with female leads (because I'm female), but this caught me by surprise. The box set looks awesome too by the way. Saving up for the second box set.

It's like, $50 cheaper than the barnes and noble version. Quite a good steal which makes it fitting for a series about pirates. The box sets are so cool too. If you're an OP fan you can't go wrong with it. It comes with the volumes listed and also a separately bound Romance Dawn oneshot. The poster it comes with is a cheap piece of folded paper, and the artwork on the box is much more cool and impressive to look at. Definitely worth the price if you've got the spare change for it. Oh, one thing that does get to me about the actual volumes compared to the online scan groups is that the translations are different from what you'll be used to. "Gum Gum instead of "Gomu Gomu no" and worst of all is "Zolo" instead of "Zoro". Once you're used to it then it's not so bad though

Wonderful box set at a cheap affordable price! You're getting a steal for this amazing series! What you're getting in this box set is volumes 1-23 of One Piece. I'm a collector myself, so getting these volumes new for this price is great!

I wasn't sure how well the box was made or designed so I planned on throwing out the box and keeping the mangas in a shelf, however the box is amazing and I plan on keeping the books inside it and store it all together.The mangas themselves are great both in content and feel. I've read the manga online and watch the anime up to the current episode, but I've never had a physical manga for One Piece before. Honestly, I can't wait to buy the next 2-3 box sets!Also the box and mangas came undamaged, perfect condition!

One Piece: the manga that has it all. Action, drama and comedy topped with a delightful cast and mixed in to a story that always leaves you wanting more.This is a great way to get started on the adventure or to just add to your collection. Box is nicely made with enough space that the books aren't packed together too tight. Comes with two-sided poster, a Q&A from the author and an extra chapter of what he almost made One Piece out to be.Price is reasonable enough. You'll save about $40 (give or take) from buying each volume separately.

This is amazing. I was so excited for this to come in, and it even came a day early. I love One Piece anime and have been wanting to read the manga, but really didn't want to go through the process of buying each individual volume or even the 3 in 1s. This was the perfect solution. 23 volumes, a bonus book, a poster, and an awesome box, all for cheaper than buying the individuals or 3 in 1s. Amazing. The box looks amazing and will look great with the rest of my manga collection, and I cannot wait to see Luffy's story again. If you are just getting into manga or are a huge fan of the anime series that wants to read it too, all for a great price, this box set is definitely for you.

Amazing! You can't argue with this price... You have to think that one vol. of manga = $9.99 (At least) X 23 = $230.00. On top of that there is the box it comes in witch is Amazing. The artwork is fantastic, the box itself is extremely sturdy (I don't know how I feel about the handle). You also get the nice poster and the small RD chapter Oda maid.

Great clinical book yet written from a straight forward and readable format. Should be a textbook or required reading for counselors an therapist.

Received promptly. This was a gift for our daughter who just received her Masters degree in crisis/trauma counseling, so the book is perfect for her.

This is a good resource for someone who is in a position where they need to be able to counsel people sometimes but may not have any formal training. The author is a well respected professional in the field of Christian counseling.

Very understandable and this book has a lot of good knowledge in it.

This is an insightful book. It was required for my Pastoral Counseling class and will be one of those books I return to often. Biblically based but not deep theologically so it is easy to digest and practice.

I'm loving this book! So easy to understand and so practical on the examples!Highly recommend to any Christian Counselour, or anybody who wants to help people in crisis and trauma.

After reading this book for class I find that Wright is someone I would like to sit down to dinner with. He speaks directly to the point, his chapters are not a word longer than they need to be, and he has a love for those needing help and us in the helping professions. Great book, practical advice, and parsimoniously written.
